Multi-Purpose Wire Tracker

The Major Tech MTC35 Wire Tracker is a versatile tool that combines a tone and probe generator with a LAN tester and is an ideal tool for telephone and LAN installers. The tone and probe generator traces cables and wires using a tone generator connected to one side and on the other end the probe. Indicator beeper has volume control and includes earphones which are handy when working in noisy environments. It is easily used to verify cable continuity, pair condition, line polarity and voltage in network cabling systems.

The tester has a built-in LAN cable mapping function to quickly diagnose LAN cable condition and to identify fault point or broken connection. The tester can easily read the pin configuration of 10/100 Base-T cables (Cat 5), 10 Base-2 cable (coaxial), RJ45/RJ11 modular cables, AT & T258A, TIA 568A/568B and Token Ring cable by comparing on transmitting end to the corresponding receiving end. The tester has the function of testing voltage on the wires as well as short circuits.
